MRI Technologist - Per Diem

Ability to work well with others in the Radiology department and other areas of the Hospital.
Under the direction of the MRI Superviosr and the supervision of a radiologist, performs a variety of technical procedures applying a prescribed magnetic field to obtain high quality images for interpretation by a radiologist.

Ability to adjust exam based on observations and findings to optimize diagnostic information (additional scans, changing parameters etc.
).
Image optimized by using correct coil, centering properly, adjusting technique when applicable.
Accurate and complete documentation (i.
e.
labels contrast, writes in logbook, records in Affinity, initials requisitions etc.
) Time Management Works timely efficiently, independently and completes all tasks.
Makes every attempt to add on patients when asked by front office or physician's office.
Ability to multi-task and work under stressful conditions if needed.
Performs other work related duties, and takes on new responsibilities if asked.
Equipment Competencies Maintains safe functioning, operation, and cleanliness of MRI equipment and coils.
Understanding of how to troubleshoot equipment when necessary.
Reports any equipment problems or safety issues to appropriate personnel Ability to deviate from a protocol when necessary.
Patient Competencies Assumes responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients.
Allows patients the opportunity to ask questions, and effectively communicates answers.
Always respects and follows Patient rights Patient Competencies Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures, and correct use of protective Barrier equipment for injections.
Ensures that a contrast consent form is signed every contrast is given.
Checks Creatinine/GFR level on all patients when applicable and discusses any concerns with Radiologist before proceeding with injection.
Charges and logs contrast appropriately in Synapse, Affinity, and patient Log Book Departmental Competencies Assist in daily operations of department.
Maintain patient logs, screening form, and other necessary paperwork.
Ability to utilize Affinity, PAC?s EDM scanner, Synapse and Scheduling Program.
Insures Requisition, MD order, and patient history are complete.

Assists in ordering supplies and/or stocking room.
Takes responsibilities for his or her own actions and mistakes.
QualificationsEDUCATIONRegistration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist or ARRT registry eligible.
Must obtain within 3 months of hire.
EXPERIENCEMinimum of one year MRI experience required.
Prior experience in ultrasound, CT, nuclear medicine, DSA, cross-sectional anatomy and computer operations is preferred.
ACCOUNTABILITYKnowledge of cross sectional anatomy.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONRegistration by the ARRT or ARRT registry eligible, must obtain within 3 months of hire.
CPR certification (BLS) required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
