Obtains blood samples, as required from Hospital inpatients and outpatients.
Performs a number of clerical duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Phlebotomy1.
1 Uses proper patient identification and specimen labeling procedures according to Laboratory policy2.
Accessioning and receiving Specimens2.
1 Accurately and timely receives specimens into the laboratory3.
Customer Service3.
1 Uses AIDET principles when performing phlebotomy4.
People4.
1 Interacts professionally with all members of the hospital staff5.
Problem solving5.
1 Reviews patient vouchers for accuracy and corrects them as indicated6.
Investigates and documents problems with unacceptable specimens6.
1 Accurately orders tests in the hospital and laboratory computer systems7.
Regulation Compliance7.
1 Complies with established laboratory and hospital policies for universal precautions and safety8.
Other duties8.
1 Accurately prepares all specimens sent to reference laboratories
Qualifications:
EDUCATION Equivalent of four years of high school education.
EXPERIENCE Prior training or experience in phlebotomy.
LICENSURE Certified or certified eligible with National Phlebotomy Association preferred.
Must have a current driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
